Directions:
HWY
330 to HWY 18 from the LA Basin is generally the fastest and easiest
route into Big Bear. It can, however, become congested on weekends
and holidays.
- From Greater Los Angeles:
Take the 10 East, to the 210 North, to the 330
East...
- From San Fernando Valley:
Take the 210 East, to the 330
East...
- From Orange County Or The Beach Cities:
Take the 91 East to the 215 North,
to the 10 East, to the 210 North, to the 330 East...
- From San Bernardino & Palm Springs:
Take the 10 West, to the 210 North, to the 330
East...
- From The San Diego Area:
Take the 15 North, to the 215
North, to the 10 East, to the 210 North, to the
330 East...
Once on the 330, continue through Running
Springs. 330 will become the 18. Stay on 18 East to the Big Bear
Lake dam and turn right to cross the dam. You're now on Big Bear
Blvd. Continue (about 4 miles) until you see "The Big Bear Village" sign,
(Paine Rd.)
- Turn left on Paine Rd. and go straight for 200 yards
- Veer left to stay on Paine and you're
at the Edgewater. (Corner of Paine & Simonds)
HWY 38 from Redlands is a little longer, but is more scenic, less
mountainous and often has less traffic.
- From Greater Los Angeles:
Take the 10 East past Hwy 210, to Orange St. (Hwy 38)....
- From San Fernando Valley:
Take the 210 East, to the 10 East, exit Orange St. (Hwy 38)....
- From Orange County Or The Beach Cities:
Take the 91 East to the 215 North, to the 10 East past Hwy 210,
to the Orange Street exit (Hwy 38)....
- From San Bernardino & Palm Springs:
Take the 10 West, exit 6th Street (Hwy 38) and turn right. After
about 1 mile turn right on Lugonia Ave (Hwy 38)....
- From The San Diego Area:
Take the 15 North, to the 215 North, to the 10 East past Hwy 210,
to the Orange Street exit (Hwy 38)...
At the bottom of the Ramp there
will be a stop sign. Continue straight
1 block to Orange St. and turn left. After about 1 mile
turn right on Lugonia Ave (Hwy 38).
Once Eastbound on Lugonia
stay on Hwy 38
to Big Bear City (51 miles.) Turn left onto Big Bear Blvd. Continue
on Big Bear Blvd. (which is now Hwy 18) through Big Bear
City, past the shopping centers and Snow Summit. Once you pass Pine
Knot Ave. look for Paine Rd.
- Turn right on Paine Rd. go straight for 200 yards and you're
at the Edgewater. (Corner of Paine & Simonds)
Highway 18 From the Lucerne Valley has
the least amount of mountain driving and generally
receives less snow from storms.
- From Greater Los Angeles:
Take the 10 East to the 15 North over the Cajon Pass towards Victorville and exit at Bear Valley Road. Turn right (East) at Hwy 18 through the Lucerne Valley....
- From San Fernando Valley:
Take the 210 East, to the 15 North over the Cajon Pass towards Victorville and exit at Bear Valley Road. Turn right (East) at Hwy 18 through the Lucerne Valley....
- From Orange County Or The Beach Cities:
Take the 91 East to the 215 North to the 15 North over the Cajon
Pass towards Victorville and exit at Bear Valley Road. Turn
right (East) at Hwy 18 towards Lucerne Valley....
- From The San Diego Area:
Take the 15 North to the 215 North, which merges into the 15 North
again over the Cajon Pass towards Victorville and exit at Bear
Valley Road. Turn right (East) at Hwy 18 towards Lucerne Valley...
- From The Las Vegas Area:
Take the 15 South, to the
247 South to the Lucerne Valley. At the second
stop sign, Hwy 18, turn left...
Once on highway 18, continue into
Big Bear Valley (approximately
6 miles) along the North Shore of Big Bear Lake. Turn left at
Standfield Cut off and cross the bridge. Turn right at the stop
sign onto Big Bear Blvd. Continue
past the shopping centers and Snow Summit. Once you pass Pine
Knot Ave. look for Paine Rd.
- Turn north on Paine Rd. go straight for 200 yards and you're
at the Edgewater. (Corner of Paine & Simonds)
